Russell Smith always refers to “The Manse” but the 1911 Census says ‘Vicarage Cottages’ which is crossed out and West End, Wilburton written in. The picture was taken in the garden of the Cottage.
Cyril did his apprenticeship with Bob Peters of Liverpool House, High Street, Haddenham. After World War One he followed the work to London. His son, Russell, was evacuated to Liverpool House.
Henry Smith, born 1892 in India, was killed in World War One and is commemorated on both Haddenham and Wilburton War Memorials.
